The project team lead by dr. Dr. Claude Scheuer, University of Luxembourg, includes five partners from five European countries: University of Luxembourg, Luxembourg (UL; project coordinator; Hungarian School Sport Federation (HSSF), Hungary; Deporte para la Educacion y la Salud (DES), Spain; International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA), Denmark; European Physical Education Association (EUPEA) Luxembourg.
European Physical Education Association (EUPEA), and International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA), are acting as international umbrella associations and 12 associated national partners and individuals, are experts related in the mentioned areas: Romanian Sport for All Association (FRSPT), Romania; BG Be Active, Bulgaria MOVE Malta, Malta; Envercevko, Turkey; Portuguese Institute for Sport and Youth (IDPJ), Portugal; Scottish Association of Teachers of Physical Education (SATPE), Scotland/UK; North Western Counties Physical Education Association (NWCPEA), England/UK; Czech Society of Physical Education Teachers (CSPET), Czech Republic; Confederazione delle associazioni provinciali dei diplomati ISEF e dei laureate in scienze motorie (CAPDI-LSM), Italy; Svenska Idrottslärarföreningen (SI), Sweden; Association of Physical and Health Educators (LIITO), Finland and Federata Shqiptare e Sportit Shkollor (FSHSSH), Albania.
The HEPAS project’s aim is to develop pedagogical resources fostering physical education, school sport as well as physical activity and healthy lifestyle in school settings.
The project is delivered under the umbrella of the MOVING SCHOOLS ALLIANCE, an initiative of International Sport and Culture Association (ISCA), European Physical Education Association (EUPEA), Youth Sport Trust International and Hungarian School Sport Federation (HSSF). The alliance – which is open to all organizations on the field - functions as the central hub of international and national stakeholders and practitioners in all dimensions of school and children’s sport – physical activity, physical education and grassroots sport in order to strengthen their international (European) presence and visibility.
During the project the partners collect and review all the contemporary researches, literature, best practices, initiatives, etc. regarding these four areas and develop a modular implementation toolkit. The toolkit will be available in an open educational web-based resource, will support teachers and other school staff in implementing physically active and healthy lifestyle in daily school life, and also teacher educators and school staff trainers will be able to use the developed resources in initial teacher education.
With focus on teachers’ education workforce as they are at heart of the learning process especially physical education teachers and all other teachers, but also school masters and other school educators.
Target groups are school staff members, especially physical education teachers and all other teachers, but also school masters and other school educators, Children and adolescents, as school aged target population attending schools as the relevant educational target institutions when it comes to the improvement of school-based physical activity, as well as their healthy lifestyles in general.
